Robin's Hood

Hallo!

Similar to my Swiss strategy, I have had a goal to make the most of each day and really familiarize myself with Salzburg and its surroundings.

This has meant getting to know the bus lines and lots of wear and tear on my sneakers. Beer tasting at local breweries and taste-testing local delicacies (like the mountain-high meringue dessert, nockerl- see picture). Sight-seeing the well-known Salzburg fortress and the unknown town-next-door Grodig (too uncanny not to check out).

I love sitting on the stone steps in my square downing a brat and beer from the cart. I love knowing (and being able to correctly pronounce) the street name that Mozart's birth place is on. I love expecting when the town carillon (set of bells in a tower) will start its chiming tunes throughout the day (maybe not the one at 7:00am). I love that bartender Tony at the pub downstairs knows I drink hefeweizen.

Austria is one of the safest countries in the world which has only helped me enjoy getting to know the ins and outs of my neighborhood even more. Sharing a few recent moments that I enjoyed. :)
