Lady And The Tramp

It is only fitting that one of my final posts from New Zealand shares what I probably anticipated the most about this trip: my experiences on New Zealand's Great Walks. The nine Great Walks are multi-day tramping tracks, of varied degree of difficulty, that showcase the country's diverse landscape, scenery, and natural beauty. Since I know I am not cut out for multi-day tramping (Sleeping in bunks with strangers in a middle-of-nowhere hut? Let's be real.), my goal was to hike sections of at least several tracks around the country. I am so happy to say mission accomplished.

Sporty In Black

I've been known to scoop up a few grounders and dig a few spikes back in the day. And lord knows I've spent many-a-Sunday glued to a couch watching football through breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I appreciate the discipline, determination, and spirit of teamwork. So, challenging doesn't begin to cover how it has felt to tune in to local sports news which focuses on New Zealand's biggest sports: rugby, cricket, and men's softball. While the national teams are called the All Blacks, the Black Caps, and the Black Sox respectively, I am the one in the dark!
